Glass Shower Screen Factory
From raw glass to finished shower screen — our integrated factory controls every step of the glass processing journey.
Glass is the defining element of a shower screen — it is what the user sees, touches, and relies upon for containment and safety. The quality of glass used in a shower screen, and the precision with which it is processed, directly determines the product's appearance, safety, and longevity. As a dedicated glass shower screen factory, YL Bath treats glass not as a commodity input but as a precision material that requires expert handling at every stage.
Our factory houses in-house glass cutting, edge processing, drilling, tempering, and optional coating equipment. This integration allows us to maintain control over glass quality and processing standards — and eliminates the quality variation and lead time uncertainty that comes with outsourcing glass processing to third-party suppliers.
Glass Processing Capabilities
Precision Glass Cutting
CNC-controlled glass cutting tables ensure dimensional accuracy to ±0.5 mm across all standard sizes and custom shapes. We process rectangular panels, notched shapes, curved cuts (limited radius), and L-shaped panels for corner enclosures.
Edge Processing
Shower screen glass edges are processed to a polished, beveled, or flat-ground finish depending on product specification. Clean, smooth edges are essential for safety and for proper sealing with silicone and rubber gaskets. We inspect edges under magnification — chips and micro-cracks that would be invisible to the naked eye are cause for rejection.
Drilling
Diamond-tipped core drills produce clean, accurate holes for hinge fittings, handles, and hardware. Hole edges are polished to prevent stress concentration — a critical factor in preventing spontaneous glass breakage at hardware attachment points.
Thermal Tempering
All glass used in our shower screens is thermally tempered using horizontal tempering ovens. The tempering process heats glass to approximately 620°C and then rapidly cools it, creating a compressive stress layer that gives tempered glass its characteristic strength and, upon breakage, its safe granular fracture pattern. We confirm tempering quality with polarized light stress pattern inspection.
Optional Nano-Glass Coating
Our hydrophobic nano-coating option creates a surface that causes water to bead and roll off rather than spreading and drying into mineral deposits. The coating bonds at the molecular level to the glass surface and remains effective for 3–5 years under normal shower use conditions. Available as a factory-applied option on any glass shower screen in our range.
Glass Shower Screen Product Range
| Product | Glass Thickness | Configuration |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed Walk-In Panel | 8 mm / 10 mm tempered | Single panel, wall-mounted channel |
| Hinged Shower Screen | 6 mm / 8 mm tempered | Door + fixed panel, 90° hinge |
| Sliding Glass Screen | 6 mm / 8 mm tempered | Top-hung or bottom-rolling slider |
| Corner Enclosure | 6 mm / 8 mm tempered | 2-panel corner; sliding door access |
| Frameless Glass Screen | 10 mm / 12 mm tempered | Floor-to-ceiling, patch-fitted hardware |
| Bath Screen | 6 mm tempered | Over-bath; hinged single or double panel |
Glass Quality Commitment: We use float glass produced to EN 572 standard as our base material. All glass products undergo a heat-soak test option (available on request) to eliminate the small population of glass panels with nickel sulfide inclusions that could cause spontaneous breakage — recommended for overhead glass applications and high-risk locations.
